Medella Privacy Policy

Thank you for using Medella! We are SUPIRB TECHNOLOGIES, LLC (Medella), owner and operator of the Medella website ( and affiliated websites (collectively, Medella Websites”), and we wrote this Medella Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to help you understand what information we collect from you, how we use it, and what choices you have regarding our use of your information. Because we are an Internet company, some of the concepts below are a little technical, but we have tried our best to explain things in a simple and clear way. If you have any questions and comments about this Policy, please feel free to contact us at:

What information do we collect from you and how?

We collect information you provide on the Medella Websites in two different ways (collectively, “Personal Information”):

  1. When you provide it on the Medella Websites or provide us permission to collect it.
    1. We may collect and store the following types of information and content you provide on the Medella Websites including: (1) your name, e-mail address and zip code; (2) your account username(s) and password(s) for the Medella Websites; (3) your profile photo(s) for the Medella Websites; (4) your recommendations, comments and communications on the Medella Websites; and (5) your location data (if you access the Medella Websites from a mobile device).
    2. We may also collect information and content you provide us permission to access from other websites and applications. For example, you may provide us access to Facebook or Twitter accounts you have, which allows us to obtain information from those websites and applications (e.g., your friends, contacts, etc.). However, the type of information we obtain from your account(s) on those websites and applications also depends on such websites and applications’ own terms of use and privacy policies. So be sure to check the terms of use and privacy policies of the websites and applications you provide Medella access to determine what information is collected by such websites and applications and disclosed to us and others.
  2. When you use the Medella Websites or our other products.
    1. These days, whenever you enter a website, access a mobile application, or use any type of Internet service, it is almost a certainty that information about you gets created and recorded in an automated way. The same is true when you access or enter the Medella Websites, and here are some of the types of information we collect in this way:
    2. Log Data. When you use the Medella Websites, our servers automatically record information about your interaction with the Medella Websites, including information that your browser creates whenever you visit a website (collectively, “Log Data”). This Log Data may include your Internet Protocol address, the address of the webpage you were visiting before you came to the Medella Websites, browser type and settings, the date and time of your request, and how you use the Medella Websites.
    3. Device Information. In addition to Log Data, we may also collect information about the device you use to access the Medella Websites, including the device’s model type, operating system, unique identifiers, crash data, and other related information (collectively, “Device Information”). The type of Device Information we collect often depends on what type of device you are using and your device’s settings. For example, different types of Device Information are made available to us depending on whether you are using a Mac or a PC, or an iPhone or an Android phone. To learn more about what Device Information your device makes available to us, please refer to the policies of your device’s manufacturer and any related software provider(s).
    4. Do we use Cookies to collect your Personal Information?
    5. Depending on how you access the Medella Websites, we may use “Cookies” (a small text file sent by your computer each time you visit the Medella Websites, unique to your Medella Websites account or your Internet browser), or similar technologies to record Log Data. When we use Cookies, we may use “Session” Cookies (Cookies that last until you close your browser) or “Persistent” Cookies (Cookies that last until you or your browser delete them). For example, we may use Cookies to store your language preferences on the Medella Websites or other related settings so you do not have to set your language preferences each time you visit the Medella Websites.
    6. How do we use your Personal Information?
    7. We use your Personal Information to provide our Medella products and services to you, make improvement to services and products offered through the Medella Websites, and protect Medella, Medella Websites users and third parties. For example, we may log how often people use two different versions of a product offered through the Medella Websites, which can help us to understand which version is better.
    8. We also use your Personal Information to offer you customized content – including recommended products and services, as well as tailored advertising. For example, if you indicate on the Medella Websites that you are interested in cooking, we may suggest food-related comments or chefs to see on the Medella Websites.
    9. We also use Personal Information we collect to:
      1. Communicate With You. Personal Information is used to send you updates, newsletters, marketing materials and other information that may be of interest to you. For example, depending on your account settings on the Medella Websites, we may send you weekly updates that include recommendations you may like. You can decide to stop getting these updates by updating your Medella Websites account settings.
      2. Respond to Your Questions and Comments. Personal Information is used to communicate with you regarding yours or others activities on the Medella Websites as well as any matter relating to the Medella Websites.
    10. The Personal Information we collect may be classified as “Personally Identifiable” (meaning it can be used to specifically identify you as a unique person) or “Non-Personally Identifiable” (meaning it can not be used to specifically identify you). We use your Personally Identifiable Personal Information to enhance your user experience on the MMedella Websites. We use your Non-Personally Identifiable Personal Information to perform our business operations and help further develop our products and services. Unless otherwise provided in this Policy, we will not share your Personally Identifiable Personal Information with an outside person or business unless you explicitly authorize us to do so or are required to do so by law. We may share aggregated or Non-Personally Identifiable Personal Information with our partners or others as is reasonably necessary to manage our business and the Medella Websites.
    11. What choices do you have about your Personal Information?
    12. Our goal is to give you simple and meaningful choices concerning the use of your Personal Information. If you have account(s) on the Medella Websites, many of the choices you have concerning use of your Personal Information are included in your account settings. For example, you can:
      1. Allow others to see your recommendations. Your user account on the Medella Websites defaults to private for all recommendations. Should you wish to share your recommendations with others on the Medella Websites, you may do so on an individual basis, on a group basis or on a general basis with the entire Medella Websites’ user community. Some limited Personally Identifiable Personal Information is available for other users to find you on the Medella Websites in order to enhance your experience with your existing connections on the Medella Websites.
      2. Change the viewing status of your Medella Websites pages. You may access and change information on your Medella Websites’ profile page(s) at any time, and choose whether your profile page(s) are available to outside search engines.
      3. Link or unlink your Medella Websites account(s) from an account on another website or application. You may link or unlink your Medella Websites account to certain other websites and applications. For some websites and applications (such as Facebook), you can also choose whether or not to publish your Medella Websites activity to such websites or applications.
      4. Close your account. You can close your Medella Websites account at any time. When you close your Medella Websites account, we will remove your recommendations from the Medella Websites. We may retain archived copies of your Medella Websites account information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as addressing fraud or spam.
    13. In addition, you may have Personal Information disclosure options available through your device or software to access the Medella Websites. For example:
      1. The browser you use may provide you with the ability to control Cookies or other types of local data storage;
      2. Your mobile device may also provide you with choices about whether and how location or other data is shared with us.
    14. To learn more about these choices, please see the information provided by the device or software provider.
    15. How is your Personal Information shared?
    16. The Medella Websites are tools people use to find valuable recommendations, review them, and share them with others. When you create public recommendations on the MMedella Websites, any Medella Websites user can view such recommendations. You may also provide us with Personal Information on your Medella Websites profile page(s) that is accessible by other Medella Websites users. The other limited instances where we may share your Personal Information include:
      1. When We Have Your Consent. We may disclose your Personal Information when we have obtained your prior consent. This includes sharing information with other websites and applications (like Facebook or Twitter) when you have chosen to link to your Medella Websites account(s) to those websites and applications, or publish your activity on the Medella Websites to those websites and applications.
      2. Associated Third Parties. We may employ third-party companies or individuals to collect and process Personal Information on our behalf based on our instructions and in compliance with this Policy. For example, we may share your Personal Information with our security consultant to help us identify spam issues or with our accountants to make sure we are compliant with our tax obligations.
      3. For Compliance Purposes. We may disclose your Personal Information: (a) if we believe that such a disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; (b) to protect the safety, rights, or property of Medella, or any other person or entity; or (c) to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues on the Medella Websites or any other website.
      4. Upon Reorganization of Medella. Your Personal Information may be transferred to a new business entity upon our company’s merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, or reorganization.

    17. Are Their Password-Protected Areas of Medella?
    18. You may be able to access password-protected areas of the Medella Websites through your Medella Websites account(s). In such cases, we will supply you usernames and passwords to access such areas on the Medella Websites. Because you are responsible for maintaining your own computer and mobile devices, you have a significant role in protecting your username(s) and password(s) for the Medella Websites and any Personal Information enclosed therein. No one can access or edit such Personal Information without knowing your Medella Websites username(s) and password(s), so do not share this information with others.

Medella does not publish content that is targeted to children, and to ensure Medella’s compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, we does not collect any identifiable Personal Information from any user of the Medella Websites who is under 13 years of age. If you learn that your child or any other child has provided us with Personal Information without their parent or guardian’s consent, please contact us at:
